Given our lack of industrial capacity and dependence on foreign supply chains I doubt we could fight anybody for any length of time.

You may be correct with a sustained conflict far away from our shores, but I would beg to differ on our capability to defend our own shores.

The problem is that the government keeps trying to use it's agencies as conduits for social change. The military is not the place to implement social change. Actually no governmental agency should be used for this purpose. They'll wait until our enemy has his boot on our neck and is ready to cut our throats to change. It will be too late then! Educate your children about the world we live in before they are indoctrinated by those under the influence of forces that mean us harm.
