NPR Lies

NPR Accuses Daily Wire Of Tricking Readers Because We’re Conservative. That’s A Lie. But NPR Is Lying To Its Own Readers.

Not only does The Daily Wire disclose that we have a general point-of-view on our website, but we also add a disclosure statement on every single news piece published at the site emphasizing that we have a conservative bias. Our podcasts hosts, too, are all openly conservative. Here’s what our disclosure on every article looks like (also see it at the end of this piece):
The Daily Wire is one of America’s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment. Get inside access to The Daily Wire by becoming a member.

Here’s the language from the NPR hit-piece:

Publicly the site does not purport to be a traditional news source. On its ‘About’ page, the site declares, “The Daily Wire does not claim to be without bias,” and goes on to say, “We’re opinionated, we’re noisy, and we’re having a good time.”
It’s not clear that the millions of people engaging with the site’s news stories every month recognize that. The Daily Wire’s content looks no different in Facebook’s newsfeed than an article from a local newspaper, making it potentially difficult to distinguish between more and less reliable or biased information sources.

Notably, NPR claims we are not a “traditional news source,” suggesting this is because we are biased, unlike legacy media, which would include outlets like The New York Times, the Washington Post, and NPR. Except, these media sites have an overtly left-wing slant. Therefore, it seems, a news site that reports from a conservative rather than liberal point-of-view is not “traditional.” The language, obviously strategic, again works to undermine the credibility of any news outlets that do not stay in line with the liberal narrative.

NPR Targets Daily Wire, Implicitly Presses Facebook To Suppress Traffic. It’s Time To Fight Back.

The public pressure campaign to quash The Daily Wire has begun.

It’s not going to work.

On Monday, publicly-funded National Public Radio issued a hit piece directed at The Daily Wire. The goal of the piece is obvious: to pressure Facebook to cut off our traffic. The piece, titled, “Outrage As A Business Model: How Ben Shapiro Is Using Facebook To Build An Empire,” is a masterful exercise in journactivism: it’s not news, it’s a simple activist attempt to push Facebook into silencing those who disagree.

The piece is simultaneously dishonest and deeply authoritarian.

[clip]

On the authoritarian side, NPR finds an “expert” to launder its own opinion: that conservatism ought to be labeled “misinformation” per se. Here’s NPR:
The articles The Daily Wire publishes don’t normally include falsehoods (with some exceptions), and the site said it is committed to “truthful, accurate and ethical reporting.” But as [Jaime Settle, director of the Social Networks and Political Psychology Lab at the College of William & Mary in Virginia] explains, by only covering specific stories that bolster the conservative agenda (such as negative reports about socialist countries and polarizing ones about race and sexuality issues) and only including certain facts, readers still come away from The Daily Wire’s content with the impression that Republican politicians can do little wrong and cancel culture is among the nation’s greatest threats….”They tend to not provide very much context for the information that they are providing,” Settle said. “If you’ve stripped enough context away, any piece of truth can become a piece of misinformation.”
In other words, we’re telling the truth. We’re reporting facts. We’re stating openly that we’re conservative. And this means, according to NPR, we are promoting misinformation.

Sounds EXACTLY What the Left Does

This is how it's done.

When, in all of history, has censorship been promoted as "we don't like what they say - it annoys us - it hurts our feelings - it makes us look bad"?
That's easy - NEVER. It's always done to "do good". It's done because "what they say is DANGEROUS". Goons from the government come, whether it's Faneuil Hall or Tiananmen Square to SILENCE the voices - because they're deemed - DANGEROUS.

They are not debated with. No reasoning is done. No attempt to meet on a level playing field. Censorship isn't done for the real reason - because the ones with the guns don't like it and feel threatened - it's always promoted for everyone's best interest.

Some years back when I was in China, I asked someone about the Great Leap Forward - and the Cultural Revolution - and the unspeakable horror and suffering that followed it. Even though she had seen it with her own eyes - she said it was necessary to bring China into the modern era. What they did - and in fact, STILL do - is necessary for the betterment of the nation.

You can disagree - but the liberal's constant mantra has been not just that they are right, but that their opposition is EVIL instead of merely wrong.

NPR Caught Spreading Fake News About Hospital Bed Situation in Some Southern States

NPR alarmed readers after reporting on an Alabama heart patient who, according to his family, died after being “turned away from 43 ICUs in 3 states” that were purportedly at capacity with COVID patients. A deeper dive into the story didn’t match the hype.

Here’s how they framed the story on Twitter:

[clip]

Further, though NPR quoted some of the Washington Post’s write-up later on in their own piece, they also failed to point out what the WaPo had noted about how DeMonia had been in the Cullman hospital for some 12 hours before the family allegedly received the phone call about the 43 ICUs:

On the evening of Aug. 23, Ray DeMonia had heart problems and was taken to Cullman Regional. The next morning, about 12 hours after he was admitted, his daughter said her mother got a call saying that the staff had tried 43 hospitals without any luck in getting him a specialized cardiac ICU bed. They were, however, able to find an open ICU bed at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, Miss.

Though the Washington Post quoted a hospital spokesperson as saying such situations were an “ongoing problem” in Alabama hospitals, not one person from the hospital confirmed the daughter’s story about the supposed capacity issues at the 43 ICUs. It wasn’t confirmed for the NPR report nor the WaPo report.

At the very least here, NPR deceived readers by making them believe two things, the first one being that DeMonia was never admitted to the Cullman hospital (false) and the second one being that the hospital couldn’t admit him due to being overwhelmed with COVID patients (also false). The Washington Post earns no brownie points for their story, either, which wasn’t much better.

And to this day, no one in any official capacity will confirm the 43 ICUs claim.

These stories are all lies. Hospitals don't fill up with covid patients. There is still space for heart, cancer, etc patients. During the shutdowns they did delay elective procedures but all the others continued.

What's it called? Plausible deniability? By reporting using someones else's reporting?

Took me a while, but I finally found my shocked face.

The so-called "fact checkers" do exactly the same thing. They caution or pull a post and they always say "this was based on another post somewhere else" because they're too cowardly to a) do their own research, and b) take responsibility for the decisions they make.

They will always agree as long as the post leans left .

That's the problem I have with Wiki. I'm one of the few nerds who actually reads the source material when I come across something I find questionable. With Wiki, their negative pronouncements against Republicans almost always come from NYT/WashPo/MSNBC/etc and are presented as fact.

Snopes, same thing - they ceased being legit fact-checkers long ago and now they're just propaganda machines.

NPR reports:

Jelani Cobb, a New Yorker writer and the new dean of Columbia Journalism School, adds, “The formative experience around American authoritarianism has been the treatment of people of African descent and people of Indigenous descent.”
Cobb says the meeting missed the point.
If you don’t examine how democracy has died for people of color in this country, you might miss how freedom fades not in big bombastic moments, but in slow ongoing repression.
And if you exclude the voices of scholars and writers who understand an anti-democratic, fascist order as heritage, rather than an aberration, you might miss how democracy has before been pulled back from the brink.
“In having an all white room,” Cobb says. “you kind of replicate the kind of gaps in perspective that we’ve seen that have facilitated this problem in the first place.”

NPR says the group of historians was hand-picked by the White House.

If the White House invited them wasn't it the White House at fault for their being all white?
I listened to Bidens speech and he stated that MAGA was a threat to Democracy.
How did the Historians come up with that since MAGA history only started during Trumps Administration and we don't need a historian to tell us about that, we lived it and placing AMERICA FIRST is no threat to democracy

They wore out the use of "racist" as a threat to democracy. It no longer has the sting it once had. Consider that things like: math; Christmas carols; Ketchup; Star Wars; Peanut butter and jelly; showing up on time; SLEEP - sorry, when everything is racist, it means exactly nothing.

So - we make up a NEW threat. "White Supremacy". And we call all those people we don't like white supremacists. Even Larry Elder (in case you didn't know, he's black). And it sounds SO AWFUL, so Nazi-like. Except it's bullchit.

Evidently, "ultra MAGA" was laughed out of town. So now, they just say "MAGA". And you can ascribe every evil imaginable to them, because if they deny it, they're just lying anyway.
