PGPD Detectives Investigate Fatal Shooting in Fort Washington

Prince George’s County Police Homicide Unit detectives are actively investigating a fatal shooting in Fort Washington. The victim is 19-year-old David Frye of Washington, DC.


On May 15, 2024, at approximately 6:40 am, Maryland-National Capital Park Police and PGPD officers responded to a park in the 11900 block of Autumnwood Lane for a report of an unconscious man. When they arrived on the scene, officers found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Detectives are working to identify a suspect(s) and establish a motive.


The Prince George’s County Police Department investigates all homicides that occur in the jurisdiction of Maryland-National Capital Park Police.
